Hi! I’m Eric Nevins and this blog is about all the things that get me revved up.
A few years ago I started to get a reputation for getting into conversations in polite places about not so polite topics.
I love Jesus and I talk to people about Him.
I also love politics and can almost always be lured into a debate.
I decided my passions needed to come out and play and RevNev.com was born. Stay with me and I’ll tell you how I came up with that name.
But first you also need to know…
I love books.
I love great quotes.
I love pastors, too.
Over the years the blog has evolved into a place that is a bit eclectic but all about the intersection where faith and politics meet life.
Here’s why: I believe that those two issues are the most important issues to each and every human being. Almost everyone has an opinion about religion and politics because they impact so much of what we do and who we are.
I try to give my very best ideas in every post whether I’m discussing the Christian life, reviewing a new book, or gazing across the current political landscape. When you’re done reading I guarantee you’ll leave revved up.
So where did the name “Rev Nev” come from? My friends know (and I think it’s safe to say we’re friends now, right?) that my ambition in life is to serve the Church as a pastor. As pastor-wannabes do, I went to seminary while working for a large company. My co-workers knew my intent to become a pastor and often call me some variant of “Pastor Nevins,” “Reverend,” etc. One day a coworker sent a Facebook message that said, “I was on my way home and saw a license plate that said ‘Rev Nev’ and totally thought of you.” I knew I had the perfect name for my website.
I haven’t made it to the pastorate yet so in the meantime I live with my family in the Denver, Colorado area (who doesn’t love mountains?), write, and serve where I can.
I’m looking forward to talking with you so you should know how to get a hold of me.
